Learning Treasures Of The Internet: Maths, Maths And Maths

Written by Dr. Christopher Hein

Hello and welcome to another episode of Learning Treasures of the Internet, where we present you little gems we find while curating our TeachPitch library.

Do you know the saying “An apple a day keeps the doctor away”? Well apply this notion to maths education and what you get is Corbett Maths “5-a-day” worksheets. On TeachPitch you can now find daily maths worksheets for 14-16 and 16-18 year olds that can keep you busy for at least 1.5 years.

The National Council for Teachers of Mathematics (Illuminations@NCTM) in the US provides a large amount of lesson plans and ‘interactivities’ for all ages. The interactivities cover many different mathematical topics, such as State Data Map that introduces students to mapping data and can be used to teach primary and secondary school age groups.

Finally we have also recently added a selection of videos by Examsolutions to our TP library. These videos are geared towards the UK GCSE (age 16) and A-Level (age 18) exams and are designed to help students revise. This video for age 16 students for example revisits the division rule when working with exponents.
