Being Part of TeachPitch

First and foremost, I want to say thank you for giving me the possibility to write down some lines about my work for TeachPitch.

My name is Ana and being part of “Team Amazing” is pleasant & demanding, as it requires the necessary abilities to behave as a professional developer in the EdTech market.

Personally, I consider it a very good experience, not only because I do what I love most (software development), but also because I can combine it with my passion for education. I am also a Computer Science lecturer at the University of Tirana and this allows me to have the best of both worlds.

Having taught for several years, I prefer to call myself a good product of the education system. And I can convincingly say that there is a symbiotic relationship, between my work at the University and TeachPitch.

The platform has really added value in both my professional as well as my academic career.

Helping you find the best learning resources online is one thing, but also helping a teacher find many more innovative practices and allowing them to contribute and participate is another.

I think this is what the Education World lacks today.

Our users can easily discover every resource they need by using a real-time customized filter panel. But even more interesting is the international journey of a teacher’s process. Every teacher can be a big contributor by getting certified and spreading their knowledge beyond geographical borders.

Also, a very useful and personalized product of TeachPitch is the dedicated institutional digital library, TeachPitch for Schools.

These are only a few of the ways that allow us to simplify a teachers job in his/her journey for the best online learning information.

So what do I do?

The output of my work is not that visible for the user, and could best be compared to a cooking staff in a restaurant. I work at the development of our Backoffice Panel, where a lot of operations that help the day-to-day platform management are done.

My work supports building a portable dashboard by adding functionalities and automating as many tasks as we can. My work has given us a content management system, that based on a user-role-permission system manages different categories of information such as platform users, schools, teachers, content, ontology, tutors and a lot a lot more.

What I have learned from working at TeachPitch?

The EdTech market is infinite, and everyone can produce something.

The most important is not just doing something but doing it in the best way possible. This is what TeachPitch has proven and therefore I am convinced it is “..meant to fly!”
